Confidence allows you to feel that anything is possible. Here are some tips to help you feel better about yourself. - Recognise your strengths - Make a list of your good points, big or small. Being proud of your abilities is not showing off, but a healthy attitude. From being an expert at computers to making a mean coffee list them all.
- Allow yourself some mistakes - Mistakes are how you grow and develop as a person. It's the mistakes that you make that you will learn most from. Don't beat yourself up over the past, learn from it so that you do even better in the future. Confucious, the Chinese philosopher said 'Things that are done, it is needless to speak about. Things that are past, it is needless to blame'. You can't change the past however, you can change the future. Start now.
- Take risks - not life threatening ones, but allow yourself to push out of your comfort zone. Get into the stretch zone more often and as you accomplish new challenges and goals your self-esteem will soar.
- Visualise yourself at the end of your life, looking back at the things you have done. What do you want to say at that time? You wanted to be a trapeze artist but didn't know if you could? That you met your dreams head on? Aim for the moon and you might just hit the stars.
