If you have low levels of energy then you will not be getting the most from life so raise your energy levels with these tips:
Watch what you eat
- Foods high in carbohydrate boost energy
- low blood sugar can cause daytime tiredness so keep some nuts and seeds availabel for a snack, avoid chocolate and sugar snacks
- Alcohol and cigarettes deplete your body's reserves of energy so have at least one alcohol free night each week.
- Take a natural health supplement such as Aloe Vera Gel drink
Sleep Well - see my other blog posts on sleep for ideas on how to improve your sleep
Brush Up - Give yourself a body brush before you showere to stimulate your lymphatic system

How Not to Find Inner Peace
I saw the following in Natural Health magazine and thought I'd share it with you.
How Not To Find Inner Peace
1. Striving to be Perfect
Do you remind yourself at every occasion that you've got to get this perfectly right or you will never be approved of, loved or respected?
Noelyne says: "Who wants to be perfect anyway? What does perfect look like? I'm not sure there is such a thing so just do your best and chill out"
2. Comparing yourself to Others
By judging yourself and others you will get to feel smug or bad.
Noelyne says "If you know someone who is already successful at what you want to do then it's good to use them as a role model and mirror their behaviour so that you learn from them.
3. Making Happiness Conditional
Do you constantly tell yourself you'll be happier, thinner, richer or more successful when.....?
Noelyne says: "I agree that you are putting your happiness on hold if you think like this. Why wait to be happy when you can choose to be happy now!"
4. Trying to Prove that you're someone
By pretending to be someone that you're not, you are constantly suggesting to yourself that you're not good enoughas you are.
Noelyne says: "I agree again, just be yourself!"
5. Spending all of your time and energy trying to make someone else happy
Some of the time this is OK, but notice how much you focus on other people's lives - do you need to mind your own business?
Noelyne says: "It's good to do little things for other people however, you cannot control their happiness, that's up to them. Make sure you are happy first then the people in your life will automatically be happier anyway"
All the Best,
Noelyne

Be grateful!
If you develop an attitude of gratitude you will be guaranteed to feel happier. Yes it's that simple. Stop complaining about what's wrong in your life, stop focusing on what you haven't got or what you don't want. Start noticing all the wonderful things you do have and I can guarantee there are loads.
Just open your eyes and heart to the beauty of the Universe. When was the last time you took a moment to notice how lovely nature is? Even though it's the depths of Winter here in the UK you can still be amazed what's happening. If you have a garden look out and notice the birds, go and feed them.
Every morning start the day by being grateful for what you have and then just before you fall asleep at night be thankful for another day.
All the best,
Noelyne

Do Nothing!
When was the last time you stopped and did absolutely nothing? That long ago huh! The pressures of meeting the demands of work, family, life mean that you often don't find time for yourself. And you wonder why you keep getting colds and aches and pains...it's often down to the stress you put yourself under.
So book 15 minutes out of your diary and sit, lie down and do nothing. As you sit there notice the conversation you are having with yourself. Be it, "This is boring" or "15 minutes of do nothing? Are you insane? I'm far too busy" Notice your thoughts that's all. If you need to write them down.
Once you become aware of the thoughts now try to stop thinking and just BE!
Do this once a day for a week and see what a difference it makes.
Enjoy!

Secrets of a Healthy Happy Life
Look after your insides and your outside will take care of itself.
This is all about what you eat and drink. Eat a well balanced nutritious diet with plenty of water, tea or coffee and alcohol in moderation.
Listen to your body and only eat when you are hungry. People who are a healthy weight tend to stop eating once they are full. When their clothes get to tight they know they need to exercise more or eat less for a few days. Say No to that chocolate bar or cream cake!
Reduce the amount of sugar you have in your diet and you will start to see the benefits soon.
Find out about how to cook and eat heathly food.
Cut out the convenience foods and takeaway meals and prepare your own meals. It's good fun and creative, so let your creativity flow.

Think Yourself Well
The starting point
- Choose thoughts that are positive
- Check out what beliefs you have about health
- Remove any negative thoughts from your mind
- Believe that you can be and have good health and well-being
So whatever your wellness goal is get yourself into a positive mindset first. I'm sure you've heard that slim people think thin thoughts. I have maintained my current body weight since I was 25 and one of my key criteria for success is the fact that I think thin.
I'll cover the next key criteria tomorrow,
Enjoy,
Noelyne

Routines

The Right bed
This means buying the right bed in the first place and checking that your existing bed is still in good condition, with the right bedclothes
Here's another 3 tips:
- When you get into bed relax your whole body starting from the tip of your toes working your way up
- Then tell yourself that you are going to have a deep and restful sleep and wake up bright and refreshed in the morning, put all concerns about tomorrow out of your head.
- If you wake up in the night with your mind in overdrive, write down everything that you are thinking of, then go back to sleep.

How much Physical Activity do you need for good Health?
How much Physical Activity is recommended?
‘Adults should achieve a total of at least 30 minutes a day of at least moderate intensity physical activity on five or more days of the week.’ DoH
Moderate intensity physical activity is defined as periods of activity during which you usually experience:
- an increase in breathing rate
- an increase in heart rate to the level where the pulse can be felt,
- a feeling of increased warmth
How can you introduce more physical activity into our daily lives?
- Go for a walk in your lunch break during work days
- Have business meetings ‘on the hoof’
- Consider taking the stairs a floor or two instead of using the lift (incl. downstairs)
- Exercise with your child
- Exercise whilst commuting (e.g. bike to work)
- Park a little distance from the shops
- Do some gardening
As you can see it's quite easy to get exercise if you want to.
Enjoy!

How to Heal Dry Skin
I lived with dry skin from my early twenties right through to last year. That's over twenty years! After trying all sorts of skin lotions and cream I eventually accepted that I would have to live with dry skin. My diet has been healthy for all that time. If anything I probably don't have enough olive oil in my diet although I do only use olive oil when cooking. I only eat butter so get reasonable amounts of fat. I also drink plenty of water.
Last year after discovering Forever Living Products I started drinking Aloe Vera Drinking Gel daily and taking Artic Sea, an Omega 3 & 9 supplement. I use Aloe Liquid Soap in the shower and Aloe Propolis cream for my feet and cracked heels. Guess what? My skin has improved phenomenally. It will never be oily however, it's no longer itchily dry in Winter and glows healthily in Summer. My cracked heels have disappeared too which is wonderful.

How to Boost Your Immune System
A Healthy Immune System will ensure you enjoy good health all year round.
A well-balanced diet and regular moderate exercise will help as will a positive mental attitude i.e. believe that you can be healthy.
I also take a number of additional supplements to help my immune system along.
1. Aloe Vera Drinking Gel
2. Omega 3 Fish Oils - Arctic Sea
3. A good quality Vitamin such as ABetaCareE
Here's why I take these:
Aloe Vera - Benefits of Aloe Vera Gel:
Natural cleanser/detoxer, penetrates tissue, soothes pain, antibacterial, can help with effects of fungal conditions, moisturises tissue, anti-inflammatory, soothes itching, highly nutritional (75+ nutrients), increases circulation, breaks down dead tissue, no known side-effects, boosts energy levels, promotes healthy cell growth, cleanses digestive system (which helps us absorb vitamins more effectively).
Omega 3 & 9 Fish Oils - Arctic Sea
Good for heart disease (protects heart and blood vessels), strokes, high cholesterol, achy joints, joint immobility, Omega 3 (oils from Arctic fish, away from all pollution), Omega-3 fatty acids play a part in reducing heart disease, Omega-3 and Omega-9 fatty acids have a beneficial effect on cholesterol levels, may help arthritis, reduces blood pressure, depression, learning difficulties and skin disorders, chronic dandruff, dyslexia (food for the brain), hyperactivity, ADHD, unruly teenagers, autism (reduces aggression), irritability, proven to reduce risk of Alzheimer’s disease (omega 3 oils help sufferers of Alzheimer’s with concentration & mood swings)
A good quality Vitamin such as ABetaCareE
The combination of these vitamins (A, Beta Carotene and E) with selenium greatly improves the absorption and activity of the vitamins, and work well together as an excellent rejuvenator. Contains selenium (v important to help reduce the incidence of cancer of the oesophagus, also VERY important for men to reduce possibility of prostate cancer, and maintains healthy liver). Anti-oxidant, repairs damaged cells, good for skin, vit A, good for the digestion, helps w psoriasis, preventative measure for Crohn’s disease, regulates body temperature (eg. hot flushes in menopausal women, also good for fatigue). Good for eyes (not for the elderly though, nothing helps ‘old age eyes’!)

Natural Treatments
A Message from Noelyne......
Alternative Ways to Stop a Tickly Throat, Clear a stuffed nose, Stop an ice-cream headache and Get the Feeling back into a numb arm.
1. If your throat tickles, scratch your ear.
“When the nerves in the ear are stimulated, it creates a reflex in the throat that can cause a muscle spasm,” says Scott Schaffer, M.D., president of an ear, nose and throat specialty center in Gibbsboro, New Jersey. “This spasm relieves the tickle.”

2. Clear your stuffed nose!
Forget Sudafed. An easier, quicker, and cheaper way to relieve sinus pressure is by alternately thrusting your tongue against the roof of your mouth, then pressing between your eyebrows with one finger. This causes the vomer bone, which runs through the nasal passages to the mouth, to rock back and forth, says Lisa DeStefano, D.O., an assistant professor at the Michigan State University college of osteopathic medicine. The motion loosens congestion; after 20 seconds, you’ll feel your sinuses start to drain.
3. Thaw your brain!
Too much Icecream too fast will freeze the brains of lesser men. As for you, press your tongue flat against the roof of your mouth, covering as much as you can. “Since the nerves in the roof of your mouth get extremely cold, your body thinks your brain is freezing, too,” says Abo. “In compensating, it overheats, causing an ice-cream headache.” The more pressure you apply to the roof of your mouth, the faster your headache will subside.

4. Wake the dead!
If your hand falls asleep while you’re driving or sitting in an odd position, rock your head from side to side. It’ll painlessly banish your pins and needles in less than a minute, says Dr. DeStefano. A tingly hand or arm is often the result of compression in the bundle of nerves in your neck; loosening your neck muscles releases the pressure. Compressed nerves lower in the body govern the feet, so don’t let your sleeping dogs lie. Stand up and walk around.
