In our busy world it can be difficult to find peace and quiet. However, we all need some quiet time to rest and recharge.
Find quiet within yourself with this meditation. Make time to practise it every day, at the same time. Good times are first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
- Sit comfortably in a quiet place and relax. Take a few deep breaths in and out, letting go of any tension as you breathe out. Close your eyes. Still your mind by focusing on your breath. Alternatively, a mantra of your choice or a picture of a smiling buddha or candle flame. Aim to practise for 20 minutes. Then open your eyes and gently stretch before getting up. You may find it difficult to stay focused at first however, if you persevere you will eventually get the results you want.
Make time every day to spend time somewhere serene, even a quiet half hour in the bathroom can make all the difference.
Reduce the amount of noise in your surroundings by only having one appliance on at a time.
Have a TV free evening! Chat to your partner, read a book or bake a cake.
