Well-Being Research - Shopping may not be good for you!
Wellbeing research - This is an article I spotted some time ago and unfortunately forgot to keep the link to it....
Wellbeing research tells us that the way we spend our free time is a crucial element in creating happy and fulfilled lives.
While shopping frequently emerges as one of our most popular leisure activities, studies have found that people who place a lot of importance on acquiring material goods tend to be less satisfied with their lives, as well as having poorer quality relationships with people close to them. In fact, spending time on relationships with families and friends is one of the key ways that we can enhance our wellbeing. Happy people have stronger social relationships than those who are less happy, and being part of a strong social network has been shown to help protect against the experience of mental health difficulties.
Neuroscientists have found that our brains are wired so that we naturally find co-operating with others rewarding. Evidence suggests that people who contribute to their communities by volunteering and taking part in social activities have a greater sense of self-worth and meaning in their lives. This might help to explain why offering practical and emotional support has even been shown to help people live longer!
If the activities you choose in your free time also involve learning a new skill, so much the better. Participating in learning activities has a positive impact on wellbeing, and also improves people's ability to cope when things in life don't go according to plan, a characteristic known as resilience.
If that all sounds rather hectic, you'll be pleased to hear that taking the time to stop and appreciate your experiences is also an important contributor to wellbeing. Simply being aware of what is taking place around you in the here-and-now can lead to increased positive emotions. And particularly relevant here is evidence that having an attitude of open awareness helps you choose to act in ways which best correspond to things that you value and find interesting.
So what can I say. I have always maintained that the simpler things in life are what make you happy. A smile, mother nature, spending time with family and friends. Go do some more of the Free Stuff and stop shopping!
Have fun!

Health from the Inside Out
A Message from Noelyne.....
My number one health tip is making sure you are healthy on the inside first and foremost. You can spend thousands and slap no end of lotions and potions on the outside however, it will never truly disguise what's on the inside.
It's about eating healthily, drinking plenty of water, regular exercise and a positive mental attitude. This has been my philosophy on life for as long as I can remember.
I've worked out a way of life that works for me. The purpose of this blog is to share my knowledge and experiences with you so that you can decide if what works for me might just work for you too. I'd love to find out what your thoughts are too so please feel free to comment.
I'm aiming to launch a membership site this year to have a group of like minded women interested in all things natural, where you can find out how to look good, feel great and be happy naturally.
Be well,
Noelyne Jones

Sunless Tanning Product
A Message from Noelyne.......
Now I'm not really into having a tan as you can see ........ I have fair skin and burn easily so I am a Factor 30 girl. I find sitting in the sun for hours on end trying to turn brown a bit of a waste of time.
I do like to look healthy and tend to achieve that through healthy eating, plenty of water and exercise. So I suspect your wondering why I'm recommending a Sunless Tanning Product? Well I do like to have brown legs in the Summer when I'm not wearing tights. I am also very keen to only put natural products on my skin so when I started my Aloe Vera business I had to try out this product. The results are amazing. Lovely colour, no streaking, very easy to apply and a lovely smell. Totally natural.
I gave my 18 year old niece some for Christmas and she loves it too. As a result a number of her friends have bought some.
So if you want to look as though you've had an exotic holiday and can't afford to go just yet then treat yourself to some of this amazing product.

5 Easy Rules for Lifelong Healthy Eating
1. Go for quality
Buy the best quality food that your budget will allow.
2. Cook/prepare as many of your meals as possible
2. Cook/prepare as many of your meals as possible
Don't be tempted by those convenience foods too often, make them an exception rather than the norm. Still way too much fat, sugar and salt even though producers have reduced quantities significantly
3. Never go on a diet
Diets DO NOT work long term. You need to re-educate yourself to understand what healthy eating means and then balance your food, making sure your body receives the nutrition it needs for optimum health. Make this a part of your normal daily habits. It takes 21 days to form a habit so persevere.
4. Let yourself get hungry – know when you are full
Only eat when you are hungry and stop once you are full.

5. Use carbohydrate tapering during the day
Eat large amounts of carbohydrates in the morning and reduce portions throughout the day. Your body needs carbohydrate first thing to kick start the day. You don't need large amounts in the evening.

How to find more time to feel Healthy.
I bet you would prepare healthy food and exercise more if you could only find more time? Maybe you believe that preparing heathly food is going to take longer and it's just easy to open a packet or box? It all boils down (no pun intended) to how much you want to take control of your health, well-being and happiness?
If you really really realy really want to then you will find time. To help with this here is a technique that I use to make the most of my time:
1. Every Sunday evening make alist of all the things you would like to achieve for the following week.
2. Prioritise into A - Must do, B - Should do, C - Could do - using any deadlines that you know of.
3. Get a blank piece of A4 paper and divide it into 7 columns lanscape, one for each day of the week.
4. Get your diary and enter everythin you have already agreed to do with times on the paper.
5. Identify other times when you are free.
6. Plan to do items off your list in order of priority
7. Each morning make a list of the things you would like to do and again prioritise into A, B and C.
8. Focus on the A's, when those are achieved move onto the B's.
Make sure planning your weekly meals and shopping for wholesome food is included.
Remember that if it's not important to you it won't be in your life.
Enjoy the process,
I'll be moving on to start reviewing Alternative Health Treatments soon,

How to Meditate
I know that meditating can be quite difficult to master. There are various methods of meditation so it's about giving each one of them a go until you find one that suits you.
I started by following Hatha Yoga meditation which involves the following steps:
- finding a quiet area to lie down where you won't be disturbed.
- You start by relaxing your toes and feet and legs and continue working up your body to your head and jaw.
- Then you focus on your breathing and allow yourself to totally relax.
- Then you imagine yourself in a peaceful place such as a quiet beach or mountain top. Focus on this for a while
- Finally clear your mind of all thoughts and just be.
The following is an excellent site for more information on meditation and offers Free Meditation lessons for download in mp3 files - ideal for your ipod! Click here to access the Free MP3s

Good Health is fundamental to your Success
I am sure that you will agree that your health is so important as without good health you are limited in your opportunity to succeed and enjoy the wonders of life. As you are reading this blog then you clearly have in interest in improving your health naturally, which is fantastic and you are in the right place.
So why do you choose to eat food that's high in fat, sugar and salt? Those convenience meals that are OK once in a while however, you know you shouldn't eat regularly. Is it because it's easy, you don't have to think? They are certainly readily available in the supermarkets. But then again so is all the healthy stuff. In fact fruit and veg are normally at the entrance, so you can't blame the supermarkets!
Maybe you are not sure how to prepare healthy food and need some advice? It's actually quite easy once you know how and get yourself organised. The food tastes much better and doesn't really take much longer to prepare and if you include your family in the process then it can be great fun too.
So work out what it is that you need to do and then go find the information. If it's a good recipe book then there are loads available. A couple of my favourites are the following:
Delia's Complete How to Cook: Both a Guide for Beginners and a Tried and Tested Recipe Collection for Life
Hamlyn New All Colour Cookbook ( Hamlyn All Colour Cook Book )![]()
Hamlyn New All-Colour Vegetarian Cookbook
Next time I'll look at how you plan your week to make sure you get organised and find time to prepare delicious meals and stay healthy.
Enjoy the process!

Welcome!
A Message from Noelyne....
Not many people know that I am a fully qualified Massage Therapist and Reflexologist. I enjoy giving Swedish massage treatments, Indian Head Massage and Reflexology. Since my involvement with Forever the Aloe Vera Company I now offer Natural Facials, Body Wraps and advice on how to be healthy with a range of Natural Health products based on Aloe Vera and Bees.
I developed my passion for Health and Well-Being when I was 25 and bought my first house. Prior to that I was eating very unhealthily, drinking quite heavily and smoking. Having a mortgage probably lengthened my life expectancy big time if not having saved it! I met my husband to be shortly after and in his collection of books was a book called 'Your Health and Beauty Book' bu Clare Maxwell Hudson.
I started working my way through the book following her recommended exercises and diets. I lost over a stone in a week and to this day have maintained my weight at 9 stone 7lbs. I still do one of her stretching routines three times a week first thing in the morning and more or less follow her advice on diet.
She also introduced me to the benefits of massage and I actually attended a one day workshop run by the Clare Maxwell Hudson school of beauty and massage training.
Isn't it amazing how one little book can change a person's life?
I am going to share with you all the knowledge and advice I have gathered since 1985 so that you too can live a healthy and happy life.
Welcome aboard!
