Time - How to make time for you?

A Message from Noelyne...
If you are having trouble finding time for yourself, then maybe it's time you planned for it.  Time management skills don't have to begin and end at work.  It is important to assess how much time you have and manage it efficiently, so that there is room for 'me' time.  Otherwise you will find when you stop to have a relaxing bath or have lunch with a friend, your mind will still be your To do list.

Here's some tips.
  • Work out a realistic schedule for your week. I use one of Stephen Coveys templates from his excellent book 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People' to plan my week and do that every Sunday. Put the tasks you want to do in order of importance High, Medium and Low or A, B, C.  Then make sure you schedule them in focusing on A tasks every day.
  • Allocate free time for you every day
  • If something unexpected comes up just reschedule the list of priorities.  Think about whether you can delegate any of the tasks or ask a friend or family to help.
  • Create a sanctuary just for you. A spare room, a corner of a room and fill it with your favourite things such as books and photos.
Enjoy the process of life,

Noelyne Jones
