Unity and Understanding

Violets are blue?Image by Aditya Grandhi via Flickr
A Message from Noelyne...

So often unhappiness comes from a lack of understanding of your own needs and the needs of others.  Relationship are what makes the world go round in both work, personal life and business.  So you don't enjoy good relationships with the people in your life you may not be being as successful and happy as you could be.

The secret of healthy, happy relationships is understanding yourself and others.  Think back to your last disagreement: do you understand your feelings about what was said?  Have the other person's motivations and objections become clear?  Did you really listen to what they were trying to say, or were you too busy thinking of your own answer to pay attention?

If you're finding it hard to communicate with an important person in your life then you may want to talk things through with a Relationship Coach or Counsellor.  Talking things through with a stranger can often help you to see things from a different point of view and forces you to listen to one another.

Try these to improve your understanding of yourself and others

1. Turn your head from side to side and then in circles.  Run the back of your neck and throat - a tense neck indicates that you don't want to hear or communicate truthfully.
2. Write down all the things you wish you could say without repurcussion.
3.  Imagine a turquoise flower at your throat, opening as you breathe in lightly and closing as you breathe out.  Imagine yourself saying all the things you want to say honestly and calmly.
4. As you speak imagine the chakra flower becoming a deep blue violet.  This brilliant colour is the chakra of listening to your higher self and speaking how you truly feel.

Understand yourself first the you wil be better placed to understand others.

Enjoy!

Time - How to make time for you?

A Message from Noelyne...
If you are having trouble finding time for yourself, then maybe it's time you planned for it.  Time management skills don't have to begin and end at work.  It is important to assess how much time you have and manage it efficiently, so that there is room for 'me' time.  Otherwise you will find when you stop to have a relaxing bath or have lunch with a friend, your mind will still be your To do list.

Here's some tips.
  • Work out a realistic schedule for your week. I use one of Stephen Coveys templates from his excellent book 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People' to plan my week and do that every Sunday. Put the tasks you want to do in order of importance High, Medium and Low or A, B, C.  Then make sure you schedule them in focusing on A tasks every day.
  • Allocate free time for you every day
  • If something unexpected comes up just reschedule the list of priorities.  Think about whether you can delegate any of the tasks or ask a friend or family to help.
  • Create a sanctuary just for you. A spare room, a corner of a room and fill it with your favourite things such as books and photos.
Enjoy the process of life,

Self-esteem - How do you feel about yourself?

Self esteemImage by toastforbrekkie via Flickr
A Message from Noelyne...

How do you feel about yourself?  Feeling good about yourself is as essential to your health as a well balanced diet and exercise.  Confidence allows you to feel that anything is possible.  Here are some tips to help you feel better about yourself.  I cover this in much more detail on my other blog Personal Achievement Specialist at www.noelynejones.com
  • Recognise your strengths - Make a list of your good points, big or small.  Being proud of your abilities is not showing off, but a healthy attitude.  From being an expert at computers to making a mean coffee list them all.
  • Allow yourself some mistakes - Mistakes are how you grow and develop as a person.  It's the mistakes that you make that you will learn most from.  Don't beat yourself up over the past, learn from it so that you do even better in the future.  Confucious, the Chinese philosopher said 'Things that are done, it is needless to speak about. Things that are past, it is needless to blame'.  You can't change the past however, you can change the future.  Start now.
  • Take risks - not life threatening ones, but allow yourself to push out of your comfort zone.  Get into the stretch zone more often and as you accomplish new challenges and goals your self-esteem will soar.
  • Visualise yourself at the end of your life, looking back at the things you have done.  What do you want to say at that time? You wanted to be a trapeze artist but didn't know if you could? That you met your dreams head on?  Aim for the moon and you might just hit the stars.
Enjoy the process of life,

Revitalise - How to boost your system and energy levels

The updated USDA food pyramid, published in 20...Image via Wikipedia

A message from Noelyne...

Give your system a bost every now and then by taking steps to revitalise your energy levels.  If you are very busy or have been unwell, it can leave you feeling sluggish and listless.  Taking time regularly to recharge will infuse you with vitality.  Here are some tips for revitalising yourself: some are quick fixes others will need more time and dedication.

  • Revitalising yourself through nourishing food - is the perfect place to start.  The food on our plates today is not as nutritious as it was 10 years ago.  Intensive farming, chemicals, supermarkets and the fast pace of life all contribute to poorer quality.  If you are fortunate to be able to buy farm fresh or even produce your own then you stand a better chance of having the right level of vitamins etc in your diet.

  • Think about the food you eat. Eating sugary foods will give you an instant high however, will ultimately make you feel slow and sluggish.  A detox can bring a new sense of vitality and regenerate your system.  Try spring cleaning your body by eating raw fruit and vegetables and unprocessed seeds, nuts and grains, which improve cellular functioning and increase stamina and energy.

  • Try a weekend detax or fast.
  • Use colour therapy to revitalise yourself.  Red, the colour of energy, can stimulate vitality and can also promote self-confidence, courage, stability, security, passion and physical activity.
  • Drink Aloe Vera Gel - This will increase your energy levels long term.  It works by improving the body's absorption of vitamins and minerals from teh food you eat and also is full of essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals and amino acid.  Make sure the drink is made from the inner leaf gel only.
Enjoy feeling energised again,

Quiet - How to find peace and quiet with meditation

"Gathering the Light", Taoist medita...Image via Wikipedia

A Message from Noelyne...

In our busy world it can be difficult to find peace and quiet.  However, we all need some quiet time to rest and recharge.

Find quiet within yourself with this meditation.  Make time to practise it every day, at the same time.  Good times are first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
  • Sit comfortably in a quiet place and relax.  Take a few deep breaths in and out, letting go of any tension as you breathe out.  Close your eyes.  Still your mind by focusing on your breath.  Alternatively, a mantra of your choice or a picture of a smiling buddha or candle flame.  Aim to practise for 20 minutes.  Then open your eyes and gently stretch before getting up.  You may find it difficult to stay focused at first however, if you persevere you will eventually get the results you want.

Make time every day to spend time somewhere serene, even a quiet half hour in the bathroom can make all the difference.

Reduce the amount of noise in your surroundings by only having one appliance on at a time.

Have a TV free evening! Chat to your partner, read a book or bake a cake.

Have a quiet and peaceful day,

Noelyne Jones

Pamper

A Message from Noelyne....

I am giving you permission to pamper yourself.  Yes go ahead and take time out to have a long relaxing bath, or a massage or a facial or whatever it is that you like to do.

Take some time to focus on pleasing yourself.  I'm sure you've said it to friends many times, haven't you?  Well now it's your turn.

Here's some ideas

  • Splash out on some delicious food.  Go to a restaurant you've always fancied, indulge in expensive chocolates.
  • Spa treatment for a day - you are worth it and just think how relaxed and transformed you will feel.  You don't have to book into an expensive hotel, turn your own home into a spa for the day with relaxing candle, music and no children running around!
  • Watch a DVD or go to the cinema
  • Have a deeply relaxing Indian Head Massage
I'm regularly giving massage treatments to my family and rarely take time out for myself, so I'm going to take a leaf out of my own blog and have a lovely relaxing bath with my favourite Aloe Vera Bath salts and minerals.

Have fun,

Noelyne Jones

Overcome

A Message from Noelyne...

Do you have problems and challenges to address?  You won't be alone.  The key is to deal with them and in doing so you will empowre yourself and boost your feelings of self-worth.

The longer you bury your head in the sand the longer you are putting off having a happy and meaningful life.  Ignoring a porblem does sometimes work however, on the whole it's far better to deal with it as soon as possible and nip things in the bud before it gets out of hand.

There are few people who have not had to deal with problems or some sort of challenge, even famous people.  You only have to read biographies to find that out.  The knowledge that others have risen above adversity can be inspiring.

Mindset shift
Try this one on for size - Replace the word problem with challenge.  Sounds better and you are actually empowering yourself.  The language we use has an amazing effect on our daily lives so become aware of the sort of things you say to yourself.  Anthony Robbins in his Awaken the Giant within has a whole chapter on this.  As a Coach trained in NLP (Neuro Lingusitic Programming) I too am very aware of the sort of language that my clients use, which keep them stuck.

Never give up
Life is an incredible journey and the negative emotions are but a small part of it.  When you are in the middle of a painful time, it can be hard to remember that.  Just know that things will change and get better.  Believe in yourself.

My membership site will share many tips and techniques for overcoming life's struggles and problem.  All treid and tested by me.  Yes I too have many stories to tell.

Enjoy the process of life,

Noelyne Jones,
