I know that meditating can be quite difficult to master. There are various methods of meditation so it's about giving each one of them a go until you find one that suits you.
I started by following Hatha Yoga meditation which involves the following steps:
- finding a quiet area to lie down where you won't be disturbed.
- You start by relaxing your toes and feet and legs and continue working up your body to your head and jaw.
- Then you focus on your breathing and allow yourself to totally relax.
- Then you imagine yourself in a peaceful place such as a quiet beach or mountain top. Focus on this for a while
- Finally clear your mind of all thoughts and just be.
